I'm Tobias, and I'm absolutely thrilled you're considering me to capture your special moments! There's something incredible about people who choose to celebrate life surrounded by nature — whether it's a rustic barn, a blooming garden, or under the open sky.

Photography has been my passion for over 7 years, and I've been professionally documenting love stories and portraits since 2022. With an Associate's Degree in photography, I specialize in weddings, portraits, professional headshots, and fine art imagery — work inspired by a deep love of nature and an adventurous spirit that shows up in the way I play with light, color, and emotion in every frame.

Here's what gets me excited: I live for those authentic, unscripted moments — a spontaneous laugh during a first look by an old oak tree, golden hour light filtering through barn doors, the pure joy on your faces in the most beautiful, unconventional setting. Whether I'm documenting a wedding day, capturing a family's connection, or creating gallery-worthy art, I focus on authentic moments over stiff poses — so your photos feel real, timeless, and uniquely yours.

HOW IT STARTED
From a bird sanctuary to a business
My photography story started in 2018 at a bird sanctuary in Scotland Neck, NC. I was using nothing more than my phone camera, and I managed to capture a photo of a swan that got such positive feedback, I was encouraged to pick up photography for real. Not long after, I bought my first DSLR from a co-worker, and that's when the journey truly began.

I taught myself how to navigate the camera and get comfortable shooting in manual mode. Spending time outdoors with a camera in hand was peaceful and grounding, and it led me toward landscape photography first. In 2020, I enrolled to earn my Associate's degree in digital photography, graduating in 2023 — and it was during that time that I built my first website and landed on the name "Hawk Feather," inspired by a feather necklace I'd bought years before.

Today, while my love for nature and landscapes is still at the heart of how I see the world, that same eye has grown to include portraits, weddings, and so much more. I'd describe myself as a fine art photographer at heart — it's what lets me move between landscapes, portraits, and weddings while still giving every photo that artistic feel.
​
It hasn't been a perfectly smooth road. Photography is a competitive field, and there were times I felt discouraged comparing myself to photographers who already had established businesses. What kept me going was remembering that every artist sees the world a little differently, and that perspective — along with encouragement from friends and family — is what's carried me from a single photo of a swan to a business built around telling other people's stories.

Being based in a state as beautiful as North Carolina, I love getting out and exploring it with my camera — from lighthouses on the coast to quiet landscapes inland. Looking back at some of my favorite shots is a reminder of where I started and how far that journey has come, and it's something I'm proud to bring to every session.
